In other comp software (Flame in my case), when I want to combine multiple mattes and not have transparency add up, I will use a compositing operation called "max" rather than screen or add. This won't do any good if you are trying to combine semi-transparency with an opaque mask, but will prevent 2 semitransparent areas from becoming more opaque. I'm not sure how to do this in AE anymore, though. Overla= pping masks Ae question:=C2=A0

So after keying some footage, I had to do multiple keys on a fig= ure and I masked different areas with different key procedures. Head, body,= shoes etc. each in different layer (a copy of the original footage).=C2=A0=

obviously some overlapp= ing occurs between masks and if I am with areas of semi transparent areas o= n top of each other, I would wish to avoid that. If these were 2 masks then= the solution would be simply linking them and using subtract on the other = so there is no overlap but what if these are 3 or 4 masks overlapping? How = do I make sure there is no alpha overlap between them and preferably keep T= hem linked? I mean how do I overcome this multiple alpha scenario other tha= n carefully moving and blending them Manually (and if there=E2=80=99s anima= tion then each change also need to readjust)=C2=A0

In mocha you can link splines to each so guess I= would do that next time but Any thoughts about keying efficient use of mul= tiple masks with 0 overlapping?=C2=A0

Thanks
