I guess I should have mentioned that I work directly with internal media departments at a few large companies, and occasionally interface and trade assets with their outside ad agencies. My internal corporate clients can rarely or never install software on work computers. If it doesn’t work in a browser, AND isn’t black-listed by IT, they can’t use it. That’s why Vimeo is preferred. Another reason for not requiring they install apps is that their teams and legal departments constituting several people have to access the videos during review, and they’re just not going to take any trouble to install or learn apps that aren’t idiot-proofed. I worked for one large cosmetics company in the 90s where the IT staff acted like Gestapo. Every request led to an interrogation. It was so bad, for years they wouldn’t allow any web based file transfer or review. We were mailing optical disks and thumb drives.
