Chris,

Thanks.  Now, I see that if I make them continuous bezier, that undoes what the CTRL click does (changes from round dots).  I have messed around with the graph editor which goes hand in hand with my long standing problem.  Seems all I do in the graph editor is further screw up my keyframes.

BTW right-click on your keyframes and set them to “continuous bezier"

Just a few thoughts… what you want to do is use the graph editor and set the view to speed. This will show you where things are moving smoothly (smooth graphs) or not (pointy graphs).

If you’re animating position then it can help to separate dimensions, so you can individually smooth out movement in each axis.

If you’re animating the position of an effect parameter and you can’t seperate dimensions, then animate a null object instead and then pick whip the effect to the null.

Hello all,

This probably seems rudimentary but I seem to have always struggled in trying to find the right way to smooth out keyframes.

Seems no matter what I use, easy easy, ease in, out, etc.  It always seems a bit choppy.  Is there some advice out there on how to tackle this?

Simple example would be animated a single line as if it were the wave you'd see at a ball game.  So every few frames the lines bends up then back down.

Appreciate some insight.  This has bugged me forever.

Eric
