| Hi Eric - yes - I suggest adding more keyframes and more rows and columns in mesh warp.
I feel it would work better if it were faster - like 2x as fast.
Then the little smile would happen after the funny moustache thing.
I think I read you tried the puppet tool already but given the same task, I would probably use the puppet tool.
Best, Rachel
Thanks Rachel,
To better understand on the "not enough transform points", can you elaborate? Since that used Mesh Warp, are you suggest adding more rows and columns? (2 and 8 now).
Eric Hi Eric - I’m just catching up here but my opinion is you don’t have enough transform points (pos x, y and rotation) to make this look realistic and timing is off - should be faster.
You don’t need fancy plugins for this.
Compositing might also need some thought.
Keep at it - Rachel
For those still tracking this, here is a very crude snippet of what I'm doing. I just wanted to see if I could do the effect note in Doritos Commercial with Sam Elliott.
As you can see, the smoothness is horrid. I've tried every suggestion so far here and it is still very jumpy.
I don’t have that effect. It looks like it could be useful for warping your mustache. There are a few tutorials on aescripts on how to work it.
Thanks Curtis. I actually have that. Would that do it? Never have used it yet. Something like this?
That's exactly what I began with. :) but then it wasnt smooth so might have to try that again.
I wish there was a way to use a mask as a path except path but keep the object static and just morph with a curved mask.
Puppet Tool?
